I have to admit, the Tao Te Ching was my ultimate red pill. Has anyone else read it? What did you think of it? Which version (or translation) did you read?

It's the original scripture thought to be written by Lao Tzu, (who actually didn't write the Butterfly Metaphor, that was CHANG Tzu) which is the basis for Taoism. It speaks mainly of power, governing, and the completeness of the universe in itself (nothing is everything/everything is nothing etc) and connection through naturalisation of inaction (action without effort). It influenced Japanese Buddhism greatly to create Zen (Ch'an) Buddhism and there is numerous translations of it available. Like I mentioned in another thread, reading it was like ODing on the red pill.

The version I read was in this book which is a wonderful little thing that also contains scriptures like the Book of John, the Book of Rumi, the major parts of the Qu'ran to the RG Veda and Tibetan book of the Dead, amoung others.

It also helps in understanding any concepts of Zen, and therefore Teh Matrix.
