However, like you said, theres still something in common with all of them, they all have four sides and four corners, even if the little details are very different.

going with that, everything is the same aside from little differences. and I dont think that's the case either. think of it this way:

with a web, everything is connected with everything else, but if one part of the web fails. other parts can take up slack for the failed part, and the web sustains it's integrity.

with a cycle, if one link is broken in it, the whole system breaks down and stops.
