The views never change, because at the core of them is the false objective truth: we can choose our own views.

You educatingly guess that when you tgype the x key you will get the character x. And 99.9% of the time it is right.

But without the chaotic chance that it isn't there, we would never evolve. There would never be something more to explore, to experience, to become and diversify into.

If we are taught to learn in certain ways from our experiences, yes, yes we do. But that's just another form of training. Do you really think that if that applied to the majority of the human race we would exist in the socio-cultural forms we do now?

nope...cause as much as i hate to say... 'progress' ('scuse the term) requires the folks that can haul the steel and weld it, as well as the folks that can figure out what that steel's gonna be. if you can do both, than kudos, my friend. if you cant, well, that's to be expected. but like you said, there's always that chance that someone can do both...

yes the flaw and beauty of the system is that. another frighteningly weird paradox! its a frequent part of what we live like/as in this reality!

and besides if it made too much sense we might *gasp* GET ALONG! HOLY CRAP!!!!!! but it wouldnt be very interesting now would it. i know for a fact that humans are confrontational creatures, howeve what we COULD do is rechannel those energies away from physical traits and towards other kinds of confrontations, sports, games, online forums...:P you get the general idea of what im saying

which brings up the question "how would we be different if we werent so chaotic and contradictory in nature? what would our race be like if we werent a bunch of raving hippocrits?"

no i do not ONLY educatingly guess that. i assume it because i have tried it many times and it has, and because that is what it is "programmed" to do. yes there is an anomaly factor in there but when my keyboard develops ai, i or he/she will be the first to tell you guys. and it might be educated, but its from experience and trial and error first. its a combination of both of our ideas that works and is mostly applied nowadays.

or course not, but because we DIDNT, we DO!! think about how different the world would have turned out if we did. most (if not all) types of discrimination would be gone, we would get alone a whole helluva lot better, and have overall better lives as a result!!!! but we didnt do that, so now we're at the point we are today. but we are attempting to introduce all cultures to all others right now, as we have been for the last decade or two, but its a slow process, and i doubt we'll be around to see the results.

well you cant forget progress is relative, steel can be made into anything, and there are different names for these things all over the world, and also one person could probably not do all that by himself, but when working with companions, the job becomes not only a possibility, but a reality.

Assumptions based on previous repetetive experience are just a version of educated guesses...

Oh, and a keyboard can do something unexpected without it developing AI. It can disfunction, be interferred with, an alien could take up residence in the wiring. :)

nah, assumptions are more vague than educated guesses by definition, but i guess they wind up being the same thing. i just dont like calling them educated guesses because it shows some hint towards the scientific/educational community that we have today that i dont like very much.

thats true, it can break. and if the alien who lives in mine ever comes out, he'll probably yell at me for searching for too much porn, and then i'll treat him to drinks somewhere. interesting question: how would you respond to alien races making contact with us? would you do it the top-secret government way? (kill them and dissect them), my way which would be making friends with them and doing stuff together on our world, theirs, and any others that seemed interesting, or a variation of your own?

I'd like to go back and visit their planet (if possible) or at least hang out on their ship.

Humans though, are more likely to blow the fuckers up. Stupid humans.

agreed, but what can you do? i mean most people would more likely than not be afraid of the contact, rather than want to go out, talk with them and have a few drinks, but since they majority of the people who would be able to contact them are of the former category...

oh well maybe they'll seek out the help of the ones who arent gonna try (unsuccessfully) to shoot them out of the sky.

why does everyone assume that any existing aliens must be smarter than we are. That they must know our language. That they have been observing our behaviour for eons. if indeed aliens did exist and did ever end up paying us a visit, couldnt it very well just be because they accidentally discovered a way to travel this far and ran into a big rock and discovered that we exist????
i dont know, just a thought
